Oka nutana yugAvishkaraNa kOsam

Cinaveerabhadrudu was born in 1962 in a village in East Godavari District. M.A. in philosophy, currently employed as Project Officer in the Integrated Tribal Development Authority in A.P. "nirvikalpa samgeetam", "araNyam", "praSnabhoomi" and 'omTari caela madhya okkattae mana amma" are published poetry collections. Philosophical introspection is embedded in his poetry. Drawing inspiration from the society around him, he transforms it into a very personal experience in his poetry. His characteristically unique themes, style and expression set him apart in the contemporary Telugu poetry. Coincidentally, his namesake from 14th-15th centuries, Pinaveerabhadrudu of Pillalamarri was a poet of great prowess!

A rendition in English

For the Dawn of a New Era

Today, I must blast myself with dynamite.
Without that, the rocky blockades of my heart won't give way.

I must dig into myself, and draw from deep within
Just one drop of drinking water, for just one kind word.

Unless it endures much agony,
Under the oppressive typhoons, upon the licking flames of wildfires,
This branch of life won't give birth to even a tender shoot.

For one smile, today I must carry out a great battle against myself.
So that a bud may blossom, I must shed my blood and tears.

My mortal world getting crushed and burnt in the scorching unbearable sufferings,
Without which the pearl of compassion won't twinkle in the corner of a prophet's eye.
A poem won't shine forth.

The curtain won't rise on the dawn of a new era.
